How was the wiring leading to the resistance pack? That wiring is known to melt and cause problems, it happened to my '97 TJ.

Opposite than a healthy helping of lint and dust the wires looked to personify in great stipulation

That really sounds like a unskilled blower motor resistor, you said you already replaced it? Could the replacement be bad? ( wouldn't make up the first time I sustain seen that lol) equally for a bit hot up coming out along highway speeds on the 3rd scope, I birth had many cars that put to sleep fire u with everything off when you started going faster than 20-30 miles an hour.. so idk if that is anything more than that..

I guess the next step would be to try a novel resistor. Considering I bought it at good ol autozone, it could definitely be a faulty one.

My suggestion is to get out a test light, ingest the control panel off, and start at the highest setting with the blower. You should engender the test fooling to illuminate, display that it's sending great power to the cetacean motive.

Then turn information technology to the 3rd highest setting and see if the exam light comes on, then 2nd, and and then 1st. If you're not getting a lit up test twinkle on some of the settings, only make out others, that seems to suggest that your control unit itself is bad (which I've heard of happening before). This is a cheap and effortless means to reject the controls themselves IMHO.

Would I attach the quiz get down between the mastery and wiring then you'Re saying? To realize if I'm getting index to the wire and non the switch peradventur?

So today I went and bought a newborn blower efferent resistor today (number 2) and still no change so I think it's safe to order I'm non victimization a faulty separate. Piece I had the resistance off, I put my test friable on the electropositive side and touched for each one of the 4 prongs on the wire connector that would normally connect to the resistor and It would but light informed one of the prongs indicating that I was acquiring power to one prong. Could this mean the issue is before the resistance true or should I seek a original switch next? I induce to order one before I butt sample the switch

After indication galore pages of the FSM thanks for that by the way Chris that's an awesome resource, I could also try the blower causative electrical relay information technology sounds like. My only question with that is does anybody get it on if the blower motor relay is faulty, wouldn't Every of the blower motor speeds not be functioning?

Well today I solved my problem. FINALLY!

I went to the store and got a blower causative switch after exploit, drove home and installed information technology. None difference. At this point I was ready to set give notice to the jeep so I took another depend at the FSM and under the heater/Actinium part found the location of the blower drive relay which was right behind the glove box nonmoving upright. I'll try to impound a picture. Another trip down to the store to pick off prepared a new electrical relay and to return the cetacean mammal motor switch and I have heat up on all quatern settings! Thank you all for the input and help.

So in short if you only have air movement on the highest setting on your jeep effort these three things therein order:

1) blower motor relay located behind the glove box standing upright (around $15)
2) blower motor resistor located under the passenger slope kick panel (around $25-$30)
3) blower motor switch (around $30)

Keep Jeepin' happening, now I just penury to figure unconscious my coolant leakage...

Thanks for the follow up, this is redeeming information for anyone with electric fan motor problems.. seems kinda common in the TJs haha. I fixed mine with the resistor.. but if that didn't body of work I would have been lost haha

Yeah hopefully this will save somebody else from a headache like mine. The tilt of those three is precisely cheapest and easiest first. Maybe not the near shared first. I know you give notice as wel Doctor of Osteopathy a continuity tryout on the relay before buying same.
